Detroit's city planning commission voted 5-1 to reject plans to demolished Tiger Stadium on grounds that not enough has been done to save the historical structure built in 1912. While this is good news to Tiger fans who have fond memories of the stadium, the final decision about its future lies in the hands of the Detroit City Council. After getting a short reprieve from the Detroit Planning Commission, the City Council has voted to proceed with the demolition of Tiger Stadium, which could happend yet this year. It is a shame. It seems to me a competent city administration would have been able to find a way to save it.
