Saginaw Post Office - 1908 This past weekend a memorable weenkend for the city of Saginaw which officially celebrated it's 150th birthday. The city began as a small pioneer settlement in 1815 on the west bank of the Saginaw River, at which time Michigan was still a territory. The settlement became a part Oakland county in 1818. In 1822, Saginaw was organized as a township of Oakland, before being organized as a county in 1835, which include the areas that eventually became Midland and Bay county.
