This past weekend marked the beginning of the AirFest show at Bay City's James Clements Airport. It's hard to imagine anyone that attended the event being dissatisfied. Great air show, great weather and great facilities made for a great day of entertainment unique from other festivials.
Pilots of stunt planes thrilled audiences inside and outside of the airport. Cars were parked along both sides of M-13 taking in the daring feats of the pilots doing their dives, twists and turns over the air field.
The weather was beautiful for all three days for a first time event it was hard to find anything that went wrong or to complain about.
The event is bound to get larger in coming years as more become aware of it. The airport facilities is ideal with plenty of room for huge crowds and plenty of room at the field parking areas at each end of the airport's property where buses shuttled people to and from the activities.
Besides the sky show, an area next to the adminstration building was used to park the planes allowing people to viewer the plans up close. Many of the owners allowed kids to sit in the pilots seat as parents snapped their picture.
Between the air shows kids had plenty of carnival rides to keep themselves entertained, and there were concession stands spread around the facilities for a quick snack or beverage.
The historical airplane hanger was used for entertainment with a stage set up for performance. It also included a diplay area of remote control planes.
If you were at the festival, let us know your thoughts about it!

I could not agree with you more! What a spectacular event to say the very least. I am so proud to live in and be a business owner in beautiful Bay City. This is simply one more fine event of the many we are able to enjoy throughout the year! Kudos to Wendy and Art Dore on this particular project!
Sincerely, MLeveling President Mobile Management Systems
