Most folks in Bay City are excited about the possibilities of bringing a minor league baseball team to this area. A committee lead by the Bar Area Chamber of Commerce is studying the financial feasibility of the proposition, and so far, they their comments in this regard have been very favorable.
This issue to overcome is the need of building a new ball park -- a team owner has already committed publicly to bringing a minor league team here if a ball park is built. But, there may be little to no funding from city or county government as both are facing budget problems, and the city has the "Uptown At River's Edge" project that still has to be developed.
What are your thoughts on the "pros and cons" on this subject?

I'm all for it! Would love to be able to following a local professional baseball team. I just hope the financing of new ballpark can be worked out and that the park design will have a multipurpose use.
